He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap; he seats them with princes and has them inherit a throne of honor. "For the foundations of the earth are the LORD's; on them he has set the world. (1 Samuel 2:8)

Let us pray: Most Generous Father, truly your grace is at work all the time. I pray that you lift up the spirit and confidence of brothers and sisters who have nothing right now. May they see their situation only as one dark episode but a brighter and happier tomorrow is about to come. I pray that they remain faithful and hopeful so that they won’t give up easily on life’s many challenges. Make them feel your presence oh Lord. Amen.
