Whoever oppresses a poor man insults his Maker, but he who is generous to the needy honors him. (Proverbs 14:31)

Let us pray: Lord, as I watch on the news the growing number of poor people in this world, I do not pray for a one-day miracle where life becomes perfect and everyone would be living in a palace. What I want to ask Lord is to empower everyone, man or woman, young or old, to become a helping hand to the poor. Instill in us the true sense of Christian brotherhood. Make us realize Father that the burden of one is the burden of all. Amen.
