“When a stranger sojourns with you in your land, you shall not do him wrong. You shall treat the stranger who sojourns with you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God. (Leviticus 19:33-34)

Let us pray: Christ, our Risen Lord, full of mercy and compassion, we pray for the safety and welfare of our immigrant brothers and sisters. Please watch over them and keep them away from abuse, danger, humiliation and discrimination. May they receive acceptance and equality in this foreign country and feel the warmth of a new family member. Help and encourage everyone of us to respect them. Amen
