Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, "I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life." (John 8:12)

Let us pray: O loving God, may you look kindly with mercy and faithfulness to the different nations experiencing war. May you grant courage and strength to our soldiers whose lives are at stake for the service of their countries. Grant that through the passion, death, and resurrection of your Son may all troubled nations experience love and forgiveness and share in the joy of your heavenly kingdom and rejoice in your peace forever. We ask this through Christ our Lord, Amen.
