LET US PRAY: Gracious God, I get so mad sometimes. It is almost unbearable to be around me when I get like that. If someone doesn’t do what I want, or speak what I want said, then I am angered beyond belief. I just want people to do it the right way — my way! But then I look at the story of Balaam’s poor donkey. This sweet animal was beaten and abused by her owner, and finally God got Balaam’s attention by having her speak to the one who had such a major influence upon her. She was still ever faithful, even though he was a pretty lousy owner. I pray today that my eyes may be opened to see the lessons I need to learn, and I pray I can then share them others. Please help me to remember that God is always watching, but others watch, too. I pray I can be a positive presence in the world, and not a negative force for evil. Amen.
