Why Pray the Scriptures?

“Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.” (1 Peter 5:8-9)

Let us pray: God, today we continue our mission here in the Middle East. Grant us wisdom, determination and strength. Let your spirit shine upon our tired and weak bodies so that we may always keep our faith. May our sacrifices bear worthy results. May we return to our loved ones unharmed one of these days but should we be harmed, heal us oh Lord. Should we die in foreign land may You embrace us and find for us a place in your holy kingdom. Amen.
