PRAYING RIGHT: How Powerful is Faith?

The answer to that question is 'very powerful'. To receive God's blessing an healing, we must have faith. Faith is the 'complete trust or confidence in someone or something'. Now, remember it says
'complete'. This means that faith is a total trust in God and without any trace of doubt.

In the Bible, Jesus said 'Go, your faith has healed you'. This shows the unquenchable power of faith. It has the ability to heal. Faith is being sure of what we hope for and being certain of what we do not see
yet.

In Hebrew 11:1-3, the Bible tells us that '...faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report. Through faith we understand that the
worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear'.

It's amazing to know that the world we live in is a creation of faith. The world is the word of God made manifest. Our existence is as a result of faith. The Bible went on to tell us in the book of Hebrew 11
that Abel and Enoch both have faith in God.

'By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent gift than Cain, but which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh. By faith Enoch was
translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God has translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God'.

Isn't this wonderful to know; that faith makes us invincible and invulnerable to death and the harm of Evil. Noah, Abraham, Sara, Isaac, Job, Jacob, Joseph, and Moses all had faith in God, and they all experienced great things in their life as a reward for their faith.

Look at Sara, she received the strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised. Faith has the ability to perform miracles;
things considered physically impossible by men. We serve a God of endless possibilities.

Now let me share my story with you. When I was 5, I was very ill that my feet and my palms peeled off. I couldn't move my body from neck down. The doctors didn't know what was wrong with me so they could not administer any treatment. I was left to die. My mother on the other hand had faith in God. She said that her over twenty hours in labor cannot end like this. My twin brother was afraid because I was and still I am his best friend. After a week and a day being in the hospital, the doctors pronounced me dead.

My mother refused the nurses to cover me up. She said that I wasn't dead. My twin brother kept crying and begging me to wake up. My mother told the doctor to give me another round of drip. When the doctors did, I began to swell. My mother and twin kept crying and praying to God in faith. It wasn't more than ten minutes when I coughed back into life. The faith of my mother and brother brought the dead to life. This is not only a story, but one I owe my life to. Now you can see the power of faith, and how incredible it is.

Faith is like the wind; you can't see it, but you know it is there because of its effect. Faith is not believing that God can, but it is knowing that He will. Faith is taking the first step even when you cannot see the whole staircase, and always remember what the Bible tells us in Philippians 4:13 that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.

LET US PRAY:
Lord Jesus, give me faith in You, and when it seems like I am loosing it, remind me of Your love for me. Give me the ability to be sure of what I hope for and give me the strength to be certain of what I have not seen but You have revealed unto me. Thank You Lord for everything. Amen.
