“He that spares his rod hates his son: but he that loves him chastens him betimes.” (Proverbs 13:24)
Let us pray: Heavenly Father, I thank you for
my children. Through them, I became a better person. But sometimes I am torn
Lord whenever they misbehave and I wanted to discipline them. There are times
when words are no longer enough that I end up hitting them. I am truly sorry
Lord. I want to become the best parent I could be without spoiling them with
the wrong upbringing. Guide me every time I correct their mistakes. Lead these
hands that even if I spank them, I do it with love. Direct my mouth to say words
that would not destroy their spirits forever. Help me Lord make them realize
that I punish them not because I hated them but because they did something
wrong. I pray Lord that may they feel my sincerity when I embrace them
afterwards and whisper “I love you” in their ears. These I ask in Jesus’ name.
Amen
