Let us pray: Lord Jesus, our merciful redeemer, we confess
our sins and pray for your forgiveness. We have let you down because of our
inability to take care of our brothers and sisters. We have chosen to close our
eyes for the pains of others and forgotten our Christian duties. We humble
ourselves Lord and ask for another chance to renew our wicked selves. Transform
our anger, insecurities, greed, and pride into righteousness. Help us focus on
the needs of others instead of too much self-indulgence. May we do something
for the sufferings of our brothers and sisters and cooperate in achieving
justice and peace in this world. Amen.

This is what the LORD says: Do what is just and right. Rescue from the hands of their oppressors those who have been robbed. Do no wrong or violence to the foreigner, the fatherless or the widow, and do not shed innocent blood in this place. (Jeremiah 22:3)
