Let us pray: Almighty and most gracious God, let this New
Year serve as an opportunity for mankind to be compassionate and generous to
one another. May we see you in every person and learn a helping hand to those
who are greatly in need. May greed and selfishness be finally overcome by
empathy, forgiveness and joy. These we pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.
