Why Pray the Scriptures?

My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. (1 John 2:1)

Let us pray: Dear Jesus, with a humble heart and a broken spirit, please accept me once more. Let me worship you and approach you like my best friend. Cleanse me and make my spirit pure. Help me Lord to become righteous so that I may never live in guilt and shame again. I promise to stay away from sin and will just focus on following your teachings. Amen.
