When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, “They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” (Mark 2:17 KJV)
LET US PRAY: Good
physician, I am sick. I worry my illness has no cure; that I will live like
this forever. My heart aches for clarity on why my heart is so bitter, my words
so harsh, my emotions so angry. You are the healer – Jehovah Rapha – and I am
the patient. You say repentance is the best medicine for what ails me; write me
a prescription. I confess that my spiritual health is so bad that I have lost
all hope, and I now choose your healing hand on my life. But you promise hope
for those who believe and give their disease-riddled bodies to you. Please,
take the sick me and make me healthy. Please cleanse me and make me whole
again. Finally, I pray for daily follow-up visits with you so that I may remain
clear of any sickness, but full of eternal health. Amen.
