LET US PRAY: Dear Lord, whoever said “there is no rest for the weary” was on to something. It seems the more I accomplish, the more that gets put on my plate. I can never get ahead, and when I almost do, the bottom falls out and I am back where I started. There are meals to prepare, clothes to wash, reports for work, family time, and so much more! As I pray this prayer, I realize that I didn’t include my commitments to you as a priority. Not once. I am sorry, Lord. Maybe if I focus less on the noise of my life and more on the joy of being your child, then I can ease out of the fast lane and into your loving arms. I need rest, God. But I can’t receive it when I go at life alone and without allowing you to be ever present. I am ready for rest with you. Amen.

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28 KJV)
