LET US PRAY: Heavenly Father, I come to you with great pain in my heart.
It seems that no matter how hard I try, I am unloved. No matter what I say or
do, I am alone. Darkness has overtaken my spirit, and the world is crashing
down upon me. It is not fair! What can I do to end this torment and stress? I
come to you with such sadness – I wonder if it is how you felt when the
Israelite people still complained and worshipped idols after you saved them
from Pharaoh’s tyranny? Did you feel pain when sin led to the Temple’s destruction
at the hands of those who exiled your chosen people? And I cannot begin to
imagine how your heart felt when you were praying before the Roman soldiers
took you away to be executed. I guess you know my feelings better than I
thought! And if you were willing to die for me, then I must truly be loved! If
you love me that much, then I have hope for a brighter, light-filled tomorrow!
I love you, Lord. Amen.
